Volterra Card package

Thanks to an agreement between the Volterra Hotel Association and the Municipality of Volterra, it is possible to purchase the “Volterra CARD” at a reduced price only at the reception of the Albergo Etruria, a ticket that allows access for 72 hours (3 days) to all the following Museums:

  1. The “Guarnacci Etruscan Museum”, one of the oldest museums in Europe with an impressive collection of Etruscan urns.
  2. The “Art Gallery and Civic Museum”, where it is possible to observe works of great historical and artistic value, such as the Deposition from the Cross of Giovan Battista by Jacopo di Gasparre, known as Rosso Fiorentino.
  3. The “Alabaster Ecomuseum“, with a collection of works and history on alabaster, a stone typical of the area around Volterra, appreciated and used for its semi-transparency, the “stone of light”.
  4. The “Palace of the Priors” has been the seat of political power in Volterra since its construction in the 13th century, and is still the municipal seat of the city.
  5. The “Etruscan Acropolis” and the Roman cistern, located on the highest point of Volterra, where it is possible to find the remains of two Etruscan temples and the cistern that collected rainwater for the Roman citizens of Volterra.
  6. The “Roman Theatre“, built in the imperial period, before its abandonment at the end of the 3rd century BC had a maximum capacity of about 3500 people.
